Combining health education and art creation to raise awareness on kidney health.

The Hong Kong Society of Nephrology presents the "Patient-Healthcare Professional Collaborative Art Project" once again! This year's theme is "Kidney Awareness Campaign: Know Your Kidneys, Know Your Health". The event will be held from Saturday, September 5 to Tuesday, September 8 at UG2 Atrium, The ONE, Tsim Sha Tsui, aiming to encourage the public to pay attention to kidney health and detect kidney diseases early through regular check-ups and treatment.

In recent years, the prevalence of chronic kidney disease in Hong Kong has been on the rise. It is estimated that one in ten Hong Kong people suffers from chronic kidney disease, and among them, there are over ten thousand end-stage renal failure patients. To enhance public understanding of kidney diseases, there will be health information display boards on-site introducing chronic kidney disease, explaining risk factors, and sharing daily tips on kidney care.

Hosted by the Hong Kong Society of Nephrology, the "Collaborative Mural Painting by Patients and the Public" event will feature a six-meter-long mural painting created collaboratively by healthcare professionals, kidney patients, and their families under the guidance of professional artists. This activity aims to encourage patients to face their illnesses courageously and embrace a positive attitude towards life! Moreover, there will be information on chronic kidney disease and diabetic kidney disease available on-site for citizens to learn about these illnesses and understand the significance of early detection.
